Painting Quote of the Day: “The world today doesn’t make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do?” – Pablo Picasso
Wuss’Up This Week: There is an abundance of fundamental data (the government supplies the “fun,” I supply the “mental”) being released this week that can send interest rates in either direction. The biggest of the bunch: The Fed Minutes (details of the last Fed meeting) today, Weekly Jobless Claims tomorrow, and Producer Price Index (an indication of inflation) on Friday. Also, watch this week for any news regarding Greece, which can push rates higher or lower.
Interest Rate Update: Rates continue to be strong with 30-year fixed rates in the high 3s/low 4s, and ARM rates about a point lower. As usual, rates vary based on type of home, equity in the home, credit score, and if I win the Powerball this week. And don’t forget: For any loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees – this is a $1,295 savings (think of it as your own little Powerball).
Painting Quote of the Day 2: “Just painted a blue square in my yard to trick people viewing Google Earth into thinking I have a swimming pool.” – Ty Burrell (actor)
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those of you who correctly guessed Ashton Kutcher as last week’s answer. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Vanna White autograph (she made it out to me but I can scratch out my name and put yours in)? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “Today would’ve been my 48th birthday, had I not died in ’97. I was supposed to be the voice of Shrek but after my death the part went to Mike Myers (it’s only fair; after all, he gave me a cameo in Wayne’s World). Don’t feel bad for me – I’m up here with Patrick Swayze performing strip-teases for the ladies.”
