Accidents May Happen
Accident Quote of the Day: “Beautiful young people are accidents of nature. But beautiful old people are works of art.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
Wuss’Up This Week: It’s a light week because of the holiday but we still have some reports coming out that can influence interest rates in either direction. The most important reports are tomorrow’s Weekly Jobless Claims and Friday’s Employment Report (with the expected unemployment rate to drop to 8.1%). Also on Friday, we have My Haircut which is expected to show the baldness rate at 38.4%.
Interest Rate Update: Is there a reason you haven’t refinanced yet? Yes, I am talking to you. Conforming loan rates continue to stay in the high 3s, and ARM rates are about a point lower. 15-year and 20-year fixed rates are also at record lows. In some cases you can refinance your 30-yr fixed into a lower term while still keeping your payment the same. Don’t forget, Mortgage Fans, for any loan over $240k (purchase or refinance) I will waive all lender fees – this is a $1,295 savings!
A Fallen Hero: Very few people in this world deserve to be called heroes. Forget sports stars or actors; I’m talking about real heroes who have made our world a better place to live in. With that said, rest in peace, Sam Porcello.
Accident Quote of the Day 2: “My father always used to say, ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,’ – ‘til the accident.” – Jimmy Carr (comedian)
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Drew Carey as last week’s answer. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Butterball six-pound turkey? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “Tomorrow I turn 47. I got my big break modeling pants way back in 1980. After the pants gig I made a bunch of bad movies and TV appearances, but then suddenly I had a hit sitcom in 1996. I would like to tell you I had endless love with my tennis star ex-husband but it wasn’t meant to be.”
