Another Bride, Another Groom
Marriage Quote of the Day: “I love being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.” – Rita Rudner
Wuss’up This Week: What’s up, you ask? Not a whole lot. Tomorrow we have the Weekly Jobless Claims report (332k expected). Any higher number will bring rates down. On Friday we have the TIPS auction (Treasury Inflation Protected Securities) where a strong demand may lead to lower rates. (Side note: I think TIPS should stand for Tofu Is a Perforated Sponge – that’s an auction I would probably attend.)
Interest Rates have not found their comfort zone in 2014 as they seem to be bouncing up and down daily. Today the 30-year fixed rates are in the low-to-mid 4s with ARM rates about a point lower. Please note that rates vary on type of home, equity in the home, credit score, and if your dog is a better dancer than you.

Marriage Quote of the Day 2: “You know what I was thinking about? If Mary Tyler Moore married and then divorced Steven Tyler, then married and divorced Michael Moore, then got into a three-way lesbian marriage with Demi Moore and Mandy Moore, would she go by the name Mary Tyler Moore Tyler Moore Moore Moore?” –Max Blum (Adam Pally), Happy Endings (2011)
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Tommy Lee last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Hamburger Helper AM Radio? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “In two days I turn 73. From my name you’d think I’d be your best friend (if you were a girl). I was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011; what can be sweeter than that, right? How about the fact I wrote one of the most-sung karaoke songs of all-time (which I wrote in 1971, in homage to one of the Kennedys). Hey Cubs Fans – you’ve got your 7th-inning stretch but people in Fenway will say nothing compares to the energy I bring to the ballpark.”
