Bank of America Strikes Out

Waiting Quote of the Day: “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” – Carl Sagan (astrophysicist)

Did’ja Know: According to the US Mint there is about $823 in circulation for each person in America (side note: when my son was born in 1999 he at one point had more money ($974) in his account than I had in mine ($337). Actually, come to think of it, I’m pretty sure he still has more than I do).

Bank of America is doing its best to become the NY Yankees of the banking world. (read: they are big, they have their own set of rules, and they don’t care). See this interesting article about fees.

Wuss’up This Week: On Friday two huge reports come out – Advance Q4 GDP (measures US economic production) and Q4 Employment Cost Index (a measure of wage inflation). Weaker figures on both will lead to lower rates (which right now are in the high 4s for 30yr fixed with ARMs about a point less). Don’t forget – any purchase or refinance transaction over 240k I will waive all lender fees!

Waiting Quote of the Day 2: “If I’m not back in five minutes…wait longer!” – Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey), Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to all of you who correctly guessed Tom Selleck as last week’s answer. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a tube of Colgate Tarter Control toothpaste that Peapod delivered to me by mistake? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “Last week I turned 65. Am I upset that the first cloned sheep was named after me because it was cloned from a cell taken from an adult ewe’s mammary gland? Heck no! It’s one of the things I’m famous for. Another thing I’m famous for is having one of my songs hit number one 3 times (in ’74 when I released it, in ’82 when I re-recorded it for a movie about prostitutes, and again in ’92 when someone else sang it about Kevin). If James Brown is the hardest working man in show biz, than I am the female equivalent. With over 3,000 songs I’ve penned you can’t say I’m a nine to five worker.”
