Didja Know…?: The world’s largest paper money bill was 8.5 x 14 inches! It was created by the Philippine government in June of 1998 to commemorate its 100th year of independence. I don’t even know how I would fit this bill in my already George Costanza-like wallet. Hey, here are some more interesting money facts. If you are a germ freak like me stay away from #10.
In my sophomore year at the University of Kansas I took a bunch of acting classes, bowling, and Art 101, which helped me achieve the highest GPA in the history of my life: 3.50. Coincidentally, interest rates have mirrored that magical sophomore year for a while now. 30-yr fixed rates remain in the mid-3s with ARM rates about a point lower.
Wuss’up This Week: Today and tomorrow the government is auctioning off 5-year and 7-year treasury notes. A strong demand for these will lead to lower rates. The most important report though is Friday’s Advance Q1 GPD which is a measure of US economic production. (expected up 0.5%). Better-than-expected results will lead to higher rates. Lower-than-expected will lead to my University of Kansas junior year GPA.
…and don’t forget to remember that for any purchase loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees (a $995 savings!), and for any refinance loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees and title fees (a $1,960 savings!). Wow! Be a hero today and tell your friends about this.

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Seth Rogen last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win an Anna Nicole Smith bobblehead? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: I am a song. It was on this day in 1985 that I hit #1 on the charts. A year after I came out, Hands Across America raised $34 million–such amateurs; I more than doubled that because I am more than just one continent. I debuted at #21 on the Hot 100, which was the highest entry since Michael Jackson’s Thriller entered the charts at # 20 the year before. So…Michael almost broke his own record.”
Rest in Peace, Richie Havens – you’re the only person to make a Beatles song better than the Beatles did.
