Luck Quote of the Day: “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.” – Thomas Jefferson
Got money? Me neither, but you might have some coming to you that you had no idea about. Go to Cashdash.net, click on “Cash Dash” at the top, and then click on “Search Cash Dash” next to the happy lady.
Rate Update: You may ask me if rates will continue to drop or start going back up, and I will tell you the same thing I said when teachers would call on me in class: “I have absolutely no clue.” (followed by, “wait, what class is this again?”). What I think is that we’re scraping the bottom of the rate-barrel – it’s practically impossible for them to go much lower. But then again, I started saying that when rates were in the 6’s – so who knows. Rates are still in the low 4s for a 30-yr fixed with ARM rates about a point lower.
Rebecca Black coined the lyric “Gotta get down on Friday.” Was she singing about rates? Can we call that singing? I’ll answer the first question: Our friend Ben Bernanke makes a HUGE QE3 announcement on Friday that will help rates go down (if he says he’s investing money in bonds) or shoot rates up (if he invests money elsewhere). I would advise locking down your rates before Friday…
Luck Quote of the Day 2: “I busted a mirror and got seven years bad luck, but my lawyer thinks he can get me five.” – Steven Wright
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Whitney Houston as the answer to the Aug 10th trivia contest. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a 2002 US Magazine with Pam Anderson on the cover? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “I turn 53 today. I am famous for movies and sequels to my movies. I starred with Sam and Magnum in ’87 and ’90, and I’ll join them again next year for that little kid’s wedding! In ’84 I went through a training course where I fell in love with a girl they called Lassie in Porky’s. She didn’t love me enough to join me in the next four sequels of this movie even though Bubba Smith did.”
