Game Shows, Grizzlies, and Good Rates
Moon Quote of the Day: “I still say shoot for the moon; you might get there.” – Buzz Aldrin
This Week in Economic History: It was on June 7th, 1955 that CBS premiered it’s game show The $64,000 Question which took American viewing audiences by storm. If you saw the movie Quiz Show you know about the cheating going on. I think it’s safe to say the producers of Wheel of Fortune never leaked any answers to their contestants.
Wuss’up This Week: Every day reports about our economy are released that can sway interest rates in either direction. Today we’ve got the Consumer Credit Report, tomorrow Jobless Claims, and on Friday absolutely nothing which means it will be a good day to call in sick and enjoy the three day weekend!
Interest rates remain sort of flat. The 30yr fixed rate is sitting around 4.0% with ARM rates about a half a point lower. As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and if you’ve ever wondered about grizzly bears living in the White House.
Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive HALF of the lender fees – an $895 savings! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass this info onto any friends, family, coworkers, or fans of cool historic photos that can use this gift.
Moon Quote of the Day 2: “What do wolves even want from the moon?” – @GreenishDuck
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Brooke Shields last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Dachshund Wiener Dog Paper Towel Holder? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “Today is my birthday and I’m looking down on all of you. No, I don’t think I’m better than you, but I am royalty (sort of). So the view from up here is pretty cool, I can see everything going on but I don’t have the power to change the weather – although it would be cool to change the color of the raindrops. I get credited with writing Stand Back (Stevie Nicks, 1983) but really she wrote most of it herself. I do like writing songs for other people – including one who got in trouble with Pope fans.”
