Being Human Quote of the Day: “Human beings are the only creatures on earth that allow their children to come back home.” – Bill Cosby
Interest rates continued their up-and-down dance last week. Bonds were in strong demand last week (side note: short-term government bonds, not James Bonds), which helped rates come back down after going up, from coming back down after they had gone up. Huh? I know. Rates are just as confused and scared as we all are. Here’s what I do know: Outside of the Fed speaking today (1:00 CST) and the Consumer Price Index data released tomorrow (this is a report that measures inflation) there isn’t much else that will move rates in either direction this week.
Currently the 30-year fixed rates are clocking in at the low-to-mid 3s with ARM rates about a point lower. Don’t forget that rates are based on type of home, equity in the home, credit score, and if you think Spielberg should’ve picked Louis CK to play Lincoln.

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Ethan Hawke last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win the last of my Halloween candy (11 Kit-Kats, a Baby Ruth, some Milky Ways, and a nickel)? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “It was on this day in 1991 that 1,000 of our fans were given medical treatment after a minor riot in Berlin, Germany. Who are we? In 1988 we were opening for Tiffany, but by the end of the tour she was opening for us! One of our first members dropped out to become an actor. Was he successful? Last we heard he was acting with teddy bears in a movie that wasn’t a hit with little kids.”
