Jumping for Joy
Happiness Quote of the Day: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss
Wuss’Up This Week: Nothing can rock good rates as much as the Fed opening its mouth. Today at 1:15 the Fed meeting adjourns and everyone will analyze every word out of Ben Bernanke’s mouth including – but not limited to – how he will hold the prime rate where it is, how the economy is still slowly moving in the right direction, and how he can’t understand why Adam Sandler movies are getting worse and worse. Besides the Fed’s report, we’ve also got Weekly Jobless Claims coming out tomorrow and the 30-yr TIPS bond auction on Friday.
Interest Rate Update: What do today’s rates have in common with my high school Spanish tests? They just can’t get any lower (or can they?). 30-yr fixed remains in the mid-to-upper 3s with ARM rates about a point lower. Don’t forget…for any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees – this is a $1,200 savings!
Happiness Quote of the Day 2: “I have a wife and kids. Do I seem like a happy guy to you, Frank?” – Beanie (Vince Vaughn), Old School, 2003
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Ally Sheedy last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a 64-pack of Crayola Crayons? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “I turn 60 today. You might remember me from SNL dressed up as Linda Tripp, or from my sitcom in which my TV wife pissed off all of America in the summer of 1990. You might joke and say now that I’m 60 I lived way back when dinosaurs were alive. To that I say you’d have to ask Elizabeth Perkins (Wilma).”
