Name That Tune

Music Quote of the Day: “I’ve never known a musician who regretted being one. Whatever deceptions life may have in store for you, music itself is not going to let you down.” – Johann Sebastian Bach (Composer, Musician 1685-1750)

You’re invited to the 9th Annual Perl Mortgage Mini-Golf Day tomorrow. Click here for details.

Money Fun Facts: A piece of currency can be folded forward and back 4,000 times before it will tear. (side note: I did this with a coin and it only took one time).

Interest Rate Update: Last week’s high rates lasted almost as long as Kim Kardashian’s marriage: They seemed to come back down just as quickly as they rose up. Currently a 30-yr fixed is in the low 4s with ARM rates about a point lower. Please remember that rates can and will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, and credit score. What made rates come back down last week? It starts with…

Greece (is the word)… When Greek Prime Minister Papandreou indicated budget cuts would be put to a public vote it sent shock waves around the financial world. As a result, rates dropped rather quickly. If this country falters in its financial obligations, rates will drop more. If the support they get from other countries pulls them up, rates will follow.

Music Quote of the Day 2: “Do I listen to pop music because I’m miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?” – John Cusack, High Fidelity, (2000)

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Roseanne Barr as last week’s answer. (BTW – I found this Samuel L Jackson story about her kind of funny. I wonder if it would bring the value of the home down.) Want to be entered into a drawing to win a 30-lb bag of Purina Dog Chow (beef flavored)? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “Tomorrow I turn 52. If you asked me a few years ago, “Who’s your daddy?” I would’ve gone on Oprah and told you he’s my lover. To be truthful, I don’t remember half of it…drugs and alcohol have blacked out so much of my life. I’m in rehab now, and although the old cliché to take it ‘one day at a time’ works for me – my singing sister might tell me to ‘ hold on for one more day’.”

Reminder for all you Mortgage Fans: For any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees. This is a $1,200 savings! Please let your friends, family, coworkers, and total strangers know about this deal. It will make their day.
