New Year, Old Rates

Happy New Year, Mortgage Fans! And welcome to the first blog of 2016.

New Year’s Resolution Quote of the Day: “My ‘don’t make love to Victoria’s Secret models’ resolution is going great so far.” – @EliBraden

Wuss’up This Week: Every day reports are released regarding the economy, and these reports can sway interest rates in either direction. This is a big week for job reports starting with today’s ADP Employment Report, and then tomorrow’s Jobless Claims, Friday’s Employment Numbers for December (200k expected), and the Secrets About Products Report.

For the 14th consecutive year interest rates remain beautiful, Mortgage Fans. A 30-year fixed today is in the high-3s/low-4s with ARM rates about a half a point lower. As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, credit score, and if you can invent ingenious ways to travel.

Don’t forget to remember: any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees – a $1,050 savings! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass this info onto any friends, family, coworkers, or dancing babies that can use this gift.

New Year’s Resolution Quote of the Day 2: “My new year’s resolution is to love myself like Kanye loves himself and believe in myself like Kanye believes in himself.” – @Sassy_ Drunk

Timeout for Trivia: Want to be entered into a drawing to win a ticket stub diary? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It was on this day in 1988 my song about emotions hit #1 in the US. This was my sixth consecutive #1 hit tying me with the Beatles and Bee Gees. I am black, my daughter is brown, and in my ’92 movie I fell for a white guy. (which was controversial at the time). In 2001 one of my cover tunes was re-released after the September 11 attacks and it hit #6 on the US Top 100.”
