Pigs, Drugs, and Rock ‘n Roll
Pig Quote of the Day: “Always remember, a cat looks down on a man, a dog looks up to a man, but a pig will look man right in the eye and see his equal.” –Winston Churchill
Today in Economic History: It was on this day in 1836 the U.S. Mint, in keeping up with the latest technology, began using a steam-powered press to make coins. And speaking of coins, why is there talk of pennies being discontinued if they’re so valuable?
Wuss’up This Week: Every day reports about the economy are released that can sway interest rates in either direction. Today we have New Home Sales (expected: 510k), tomorrow Jobless Claims (expected: 268k) and Durable Goods Orders. Friday we can chill because the markets will be closed for Good Friday. (although the saying goes, “Isn’t every Friday a good Friday?”)
Interest Rates remain in the mid-to-upper 3s for a 30yr fixed, with ARM rates about a half a point lower. As usual rates will vary based on credit score, type of home, equity in the home, and if the home has a marijuana closet.
Don’t forget to remember: Any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees – a $1,050 savings! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass this info onto any friends, family, coworkers, or people that love famous ad-libbed movie lines that can use this gift.
Pig Quote of the Day 2: “I still think Porky Pig got his stutter from an early jail experience.” -@GPappalardo
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Rob Lowe last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Monster Toast Cutter? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “We are a band. It was on this day in 2005 our song was the #1 Alternative Hit on the Billboard Top 100. The song was not inspired by a painting with Marilyn Monroe or Elvis in it. You might remember us sinking into the lake in The Simpsons Movie, so maybe we’ll just stick with TV appearances. Rumor has it Kermit is a fan.”
My favorite oxymoron: Hey Mortgage Fans, next week’s blog is off since I’ll be away on my ‘working vacation’. Blog will return April 6th, but please feel free to email or call me in the meantime for quotes, rates, and trivia.
