Rates, Potholes, and Riding Shotgun!

Retirement Quote of the Day: Retirement at sixty-five is ridiculous. When I was sixty-five I still had pimples.” – George Burns

Free Money! I’m giving $25 Amazon gift card to anyone writing me a (positive) review. It can be on Yelp, Facebook, Google Plus, NPN, etc. Just send me the link showing you’ve done it and I’ll send the card.

Wuss’up This Week: Reports about our economy are released daily that can sway interest rates in either direction. Today we’ve got Existing Home Sales (consensus: 5.575m), tomorrow Jobless Claims, and on Friday the Consumer Sentiment Report and New Home Sales (consensus: 576k). None of these are major reports so it looks like rates should be somewhat stable this week. Speaking of stable rates…

Interest rates for a 30-yr fixed remain in the high-3s/low-4s, with ARM rates about a half a point lower. As usual, rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, credit score, and if you know the guy who’s making Chicago potholes beautiful again

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive HALF of the lender fees – a $750 savings! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass this note onto any friends, family, coworkers, or people riding shotgun that can use this gift.

Retirement Quote of the Day 2: If by retirement plan you mean a swear jar, then yes I do have a retirement plan.” – @Girl_a_whirl

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who last week guessed Dolly Parton. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Mr. T ‘I Pity the Fool’ T-shirt? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “Today is my birthday, and I celebrate the fact that I starred in the highest-grossing film of the 80s. I celebrate my body (“see my Playboy pictorial in ‘93, or me flashing a guy on TV (in ’95) who today I wouldn’t want to flash because he looks like a skinny Santa Claus). I celebrate the fact that I hold the record as the youngest person ever to host SNL, and  I celebrate a movie I made with a very funny SNL alum in 1998, and then two more really crappy movies with him. Mostly I celebrate being alive, I partied too much at a very young age.”
