Remembering Rates, $20 bills, and Vinyl

Remembering Quote of the Day: “Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering.” – Theodore Roosevelt

This Week in  Economic History: It was on November 4th, 1880 that the cash register was used for the first time. (*Interesting to note that in the near future Amazon will open their chain of grocery stores without employees and we will all become cashiers)

Wuss’up This Week: Reports about our economy are released daily into the wild, and these reports can sway interest rates in either direction. This week it’s all about employment. Today we’ve  got the ADP Employment Report, tomorrow Jobless Claims, and Friday’s biggie the Jobs Report for October. It’s still a beautiful time to buy or refinance your home. Why do I say that….

…because rates are still super low! A 30-year fixed rate can be found in the high-3s/low-4s, with ARM rates about a half a point lower. As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and if you’ve ever wanted to know more about the President on the $20 bill.

Don’t Forget to Remember: For any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive HALF the lender fees – an $895 savings! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass this info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or people with amazing bodies that can use this gift.

Remembering Quote of the Day 2: “I can never remember, is it ‘break a leg’ or ‘choke and die’? My niece looked pretty upset.” – @kristvgee

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Julia Roberts last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Vinyl Collection Jigsaw Puzzle? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It’s my birthday today and a lot of you have seen me in my birthday suit. While the author of this blog finds me attractive, he also thinks I’m nuts for being an anti-vaccine activist. Don’t single me out for that because many men will look past my View on that. For example, from 2005-2010 I dated a dumb guy that never proposed to me. A few years later I dated and married a guy from a boy band who in a ’99 movie killed a guy who came back as a friendly ghost.”
