Animal Quote of the Day:“Happiness is a warm puppy.” – Charles M. Schulz

Wuss’up This Week: Um…not much. The Fed Beige Book is due out today (this is a report of current economic conditions across the country), and tomorrow we have Weekly Jobless Claims and Housing Starts. Only, I don’t know if any of this will be reported with the government shut down. So…rates will probably be stable and not do too much until the folks in charge can figure out a way to end the shutdown and pay some bills.

Note to my brother: I’m not paying you the $20 I owe you until the government shutdown is fixed. Not sure how these two are related but it’s a good stalling tactic I’m relying on.

Two things I get asked every single day: “Where are rates headed?” and “Have you ever seen a bear play tetherball?” Here is one of your answers.

Interest rates are solid, Mortgage Fans – 30-yr fixed remain in the low 4s with ARM rates about a point lower. Don’t forget that rates vary based on type of home, equity in the home, credit score, and if you believe in the magic of chicken nuggets.

And hey, good news – I’m running my Columbus Day Special all week long! For any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees – a $1,295 savings! Please be sure to let your friends, family, coworkers and complete strangers know what a great deal this is.

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Courtney Love last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Seinfeld puffy T-shirt(perfect for Halloween)? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “What do you call a blonde that quit a successful sitcom in its heyday and then never recaptured that initial success? Me! I turn 67 today and didn’t have to rely on acting to make a living. I posed for Playboy, wrote some books about aging (I’m still hot and have the best thighs in Hollywood), hosted a hidden camera show, and appeared in a new sitcom that ran from 1991-97 with Bobby Ewing. So at 67 I’m not planning on slowing down but as I get older I will take it step by step.”
