The Fifth Stage
Acceptance Quote of the Day: “Acceptance doesn’t mean resignation; it means understanding that something is what it is and that there’s got to be a way through it.” –Michael J Fox
Wuss’Up This Week: Lots! Reports about the economy come out daily that can sway interest rates in either direction. Today we’ve got 5-year Treasury Note Auction. A high demand for these can lead to lower rates. Same goes for tomorrow’s 7-year Treasury Note Auction. The biggest report though comes out at 7:30 tomorrow morning. This is the Q2 GPD revision – which is a measure of US economic production (not great if you count the nine games of Boggle I played this morning – that stupid app has cost me time I used to use to play Angry Birds). A positive report will be negative for rates and vice-versa.
Interest rates remain in the mid-4s for a 30-yr fixed with ARM rates about a point lower. However…every loan is different, which means rates vary based on type of home, equity in the home, credit score, and if you have any fears like these celebrities do.
Don’t forget to remember that for any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees – a $1,295 savings! Yes, you read that right. With that savings you can buy one MacBook Air Notebook Computer, 434 boxes of Frosted Flakes, or come up $217,998,075 short of buying theHenley Mansion in England.
Who you gonna call if these rising rates scare you?
Acceptance Quote of the Day 2: “If you accidentally get stuck holding the door for a bunch of people. 1. Relax 2. Accept your fate 3. You are part of the building now.” – Eliza Bayne (@elizabayne)
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Kim Cattrall last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Baywatch T-shirt? Just send me your answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “Today I turn 44. You’d call me an actor before a musician but man, I love music. My line about, “Top 5 musical crimes perpetuated by Stevie Wonder in the 80s and 90s.” was one of many ad-libs in my music-driven movie where my co-star liked Peter Gabriel in a different movie. Interesting side note: My other music-driven movie had the sister of that co-star.”
