One of Life’s Certainties

Tax Quote of the Day:“America is a land of taxation that was founded to avoid taxation.” – Dr. Laurence J. Peter

Who wants to make the easiest $25 ever? Just review me on Zillow and then email me to let me know you did. I will send you a gift card as a thank-you!!

Did’ja Know…? Your email domain can tell a lot about you. Credit Karma compared credit information of users categorized by email address and found that Comcast users have the highest average credit score of 692 while Yahoo users were at the bottom with 652. Note to my cousin Nancy: You have the highest score out of all AOL users but that’s probably because you’re the only one left in the world who still uses AOL.

Wuss’up This Week: Today at 1:00 the Fed Beige Book is released, which – in my opinion – would get a lot more readers if it was a pop-up book. Regardless, this book is more a report that details current economic conditions across the US. Any signs of weakness may lead to lower rates and vice-versa. Tomorrow we have jobless claims that can sway rates as well (expected number 298k).

Hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Lloyd Dobler gave me the idea to wear trench coats and hold boom boxes over my head to pick up women.

I liked the Simpsons‘ tribute to Dave Letterman.

Like my son a week before his birthday, interest rates are on their best behavior. 30-year fixed rates are in the low-to-mid 4s with ARM rates about a point lower. Interest rates are based on credit score, equity in the home, and type of home – especially if it’s one of the ten most expensive in the world.

Don’t forget to remember that for any purchase or refinance loan over $240k I will waive all lender fees – a $995 savings! Be a hero and forward this email on to any friends, family, coworkers, or music snobs that you know.

Here’s my texting PSA for the day.

Tax Quote of the Day 2: “The difference between death and taxes is death doesn’t get worse every time Congress meets.” – Will Rogers

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Eddie Murphy last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win an Etch-A-Sketch? Simply email me the answer to this week’s “Who Am I?” question. Good luck: “Today I turn 49. You won’t find me crying about my lack of movie career because I made some decent movies in the ’80s – one in 1987 about going back to high school as an adult, and before that in 1986 where I was actually in high school and had a crush on a girl who had turned 16 in 1984. TV is where I hit it big though – in 2011 I received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Television. Me and my men will walk over it proudly.”
